This Fareham-based retailer had a website with content written by Headway Marketing that was doing well. Developments with the company saw them introduce new products to compliment their offering.
While the website was already suited to their primary offering, there was a desire to add additional products to support existing customers but also to attract new customers.
Headway Marketing’s approach is to consider any content from the user’s perspective. Extensive research was undertaken to understand how products are referred to by prospects and, crucially, how they differ to similar-sounding products.
Research identified a raft of keywords and phrases that would suit the creation of new content.
Working closely with the website developer and relying on the product expertise of the retailer, new content was created and positioned on the website to support the launch of the new products. Content included sales messages, product images, benefit statements and compelling calls to action and, based on our advice, interactive forms for customers to connect with the business.
While the additional products have not been the primary offering, they now bring significant revenue to the business. In addition, the keywords related to the new products bring new customers to the website that might one-day need to buy a replacement that my client is able to help them with.
Metrics remain important and the measurements indicate great engagement with the content. However, the company has recruited a team member and bought a van to support the sales of their new product line! THAT is the way we like to measure results.
